Join us at Quarry Hill Park this Saturday the 22nd from 12-3pm for our Earth Day Celebration! Enjoy the nice weather, plant a tree, and have a picnic in the park! We will have three amazing local food trucks (see below). Yum! It’s also a perfect day for kite flying or other fun games in the open field of the park. Hope to see you there!
And don’t forget, if you donate $5 for a raffle ticket to support the park’s improvements, you have a chance to win over $450 in prizes from local businesses!
Tips: You can avoid Lacy Road by taking side streets from Fish Hatchery Road, although Lacy Road construction is halted on the weekends. The Food Trucks will be at the main entrance of the park, while the tree planting will be at the SE entrance next to the large boulder.
Also, McGaw Park (only a block away) will also be having fun Earth Day events this Saturday morning from 8am – noon. Check out more about this event here.
If you are looking for something to do this Saturday, take a ride to McGaw Park in Fitchburg to see and learn about some of our most spectacular birds of prey. April 22nd, Earth Day, 10:30 am, meet Casper, a Krider’s Red tailed hawk along with several others. You never know just “who” will show up! Rain or shine this program is in a sheltered area.
